Backstory
The Giant Mousetrap is the farm’s answer to a question nobody asked: what if a mousetrap were big enough to matter? It is. The mechanism is simple — a spring, a bar, and a chicken that did not read the sign. It SNAPS shut on one chicken for massive damage, with a sound the farm has learned to love and the flock has learned to dread.
The snap is the whole show. There is no burst, no beam, no clever science — just a bar moving very fast and one chicken having a very bad day. It is single-target by design and proud of it. The flock has learned to walk in single file near the trap, which is exactly the formation the rest of your defences enjoy most.
Its weakness is honest: it is slow to reset. After the snap, the trap needs a moment to wind itself back up — a moment the flock can exploit if it has numbers. Sharper Traps makes the snap even more massive, and Trapper’s Kit adds +50%. Place it where the flock is forced to pass, and remember: the trap does not need to be clever. It needs to be big, and it is very, very big.
What it’s good at
Massive one-shot damage — one snap, one very flat chicken.
Weakness
Single target; slow to reset
Power-ups & upgrade paths
📈 Perks that boost it
Sharper Traps, Rapid Fire
✨ Relic synergy
Trapper’s Kit — traps deal +50% damage.
🔱 SUPER fusion
Eight of this defence fuse into one SUPER unit — x10 damage and double lifetime. Only one SUPER on the board at a time; extra sets feed it to power it up.
🔧 Upgrades & buffs
Hover a tower and press U for +25 seconds of lifetime per level. Overclock boosts all damage and fire rate by 50% for 25 seconds, and when the door drops below 15% HP every tower fires 25% faster. Press H for buff mode — towers beside a SUPER boost it 5% each.
Durability
💥 Smash hits
3 hits before it falls apart. 3 smash hits, though the trap goes out doing what it loves.
🍗 Who smashes it
Demolition Drumsticks take 50–75% of a structure’s max HP per swing, and Heavy Metal Chickens and Bureaucrat Elites knock things down too.
☢️ Friendly fire
Your own Nuke and explosive chain reactions don’t care whose side it’s on — keep fragile towers out of the blast radius.
